ABOUT US

A TRADITIONAL PUB SERVING GOOD FOOD AND ALES

Tucked away at the end of a quiet country lane, with a big garden overlooking water meadows, it is a five minute drive from Salisbury but feels like a thousand miles from the noise and bustle of the city.

The pub is just off the A338, (one mile north of the Laverstock roundabout) or can be reached by foot or bicycle from  Old Sarum, Hampton Park and Bishopdown Farm along country paths and bridleways. The location makes it a popular destination for walkers and cyclists as well as those exploring the area around Figsbury Ring. There are many walks and rides from the pub including a pleasant 30 minute walk ideal before or after your refreshments! (maps available) it's also a good area for birdwatchers - we are up to 45 species so far!

There is a fence to hitch up horses and we are dog friendly and have a friendly pub dog Tilda. She was originally supposed to be a foster dog from Hungary Hearts Dog Rescue but in the end we couldn't let her go. When you meet her you will see why - she is adorable! We still foster other dogs from Hungary from time to time. (for more info see  www.hungaryheartsdogrescue.co.uk)

We are not tied to a brewery so serve a wide choice of real ales, normally Doombar and rotating guest ales including Shepherd Neame Spitfire and Timothy Taylor Golden Best. Also, we have Thatchers cider, 61 Deep IPA, Hop House 13, Amstel, San Miguel, Birra Moretti and Guinness on draft

As you can see from the sample menus we offer wholesome, freshly prepared meals and strive to use local ingredients where possible.

We hold QUIZGO every first Wednesday of the month, starting at 8pm. It is a lighthearted general knowledge quiz with a twist. It's £2 to enter with food at half time and the profits go to charity.

TUESDAY : fish and chips for £7.95 (lunch and dinner)

WEDNESDAY: Pizza night. Eat in or take away.

THURSDAY: Curry night.

FRIDAY: Fish and chips, eat in or takeaway.

SATURDAY: Steak night - 2 for £20

As well as a cosy bar area we have a large “conservatory” that can be used for parties and meetings.

Free wifi available.

There is a car park so we are a good destination and meeting place for classic car clubs.
